Civil Unions?

This issue is raging in Hawaii.  The issue is passionate as HB 444 was not passed last year.  With a new governor, the civil union supporters have renewed hope but certain conservative groups seem determined to stop passage.  This blog was created to allow discussion and debate on the issue.

Supporters are citing civil and/or equal rights as their justification to pass the bill and the opposition do not want to eventually see the bill pass as it appears that it will eventually lead to a desire to redefine convenational marriage being exclusively between a man and a woman.

Another facet of the debate is that the SB 232 has been put ahead of other important bills.  Supporters of the bill are saying that it's because they want to settle it and move on while others are saying the legislature has their priorities wrong.

HOW THEY VOTED

A look at how the state Senate voted on Senate Bill 232, a proposal to allow for civil unions.

  1. The State Senate, with the exception of nine Senators, voted to ban prayer to God (invocaton) in the Senate Chambers. Yesterday, they rammed through, yes rammed through SB 232 that gives homosexual couples same benefits as heterosexual. Despite countless warning what God the Bible has to say, they have ignored His biblical warning.
Sad also hear that our liberal Democraft Governor nominated a "lesbian" to the high court.

It seems that Democrats do not care about God at all. What they did will have to be answered on Judgment Day (very soon) before they are cast into hell. Read Revelation chapter 20. What a shame..

  2. I agree. I do not believe this is a civil rights issue. The star advertiser recently posted an article on education and said the devil is in the details. No problem posting about the devil but heaven forbid, do not mention God.

  3. It is civil rights. We cannot change how we are born!

  4. Dear Anonymous.... your are not "inborn" but you are made.

The only local paper, HonoluluStaradvertiser is controlling the comments on the civil right issue. They are controlling it on their blogs as well as letter to the editor.
They do their rules on their blogs, but I believe the one who is controlling the blog is a homosexual. I just get that feeling. You can't have your free speech to express your displeasure on what the Democrats are doing to Traditional marriage.
In the editorial, same there. I wish they had another local paper where they are not bias on one side but be fare to all.
